Seasonal services at Westerleigh Cemetery & Crematorium
Westerleigh Cemetery & Crematorium is issuing an open invitation to local people to visit and take part in its popular annual Christmas Carol and Memorial Services.
The seasonal services take place on Wednesday 4 December, one at 3pm for those who find an afternoon event more convenient, and another at 6.30pm.
Both events offer a valuable opportunity for families and friends to come together and remember their loved ones in the run up to Christmas, a time when people can particularly feel their losses.
The services will include a selection of readings and popular Christmas Carols. Refreshments will be available and both events are free to attend.
Westerleigh Cemetery & Crematorium is part of Westerleigh Group, one of the UK’s largest independent owners and operators of crematoria and cemeteries, with 40 sites across England, Scotland and Wales, all set within beautifully landscaped gardens of remembrance which provide peaceful places for people to visit and reflect.
Manager Shaun Chapman-Young said: “Our annual Christmas Carol and Memorial Services offer lovely and meaningful ways to bring people together to reflect and honour their loved ones during the festive season.
“Visitors will be able write messages on memory tags which will be hung on our Christmas tree and can also place Christmas cards into our Letters to Loved Ones memorial post box.
“We hope that everyone who joins us will find comfort in being able to pay tribute to their loved one during the services whilst being in the company of other people who are in a similar situation.
“Our Christmas Carol and Memorial Services are open for anyone and everyone who lives, works or who is visiting the communities surrounding our crematorium in leading up to Christmas. Everyone is welcome.
“Those who are unable to attend, but who do not want to miss out, can view the 6.30pm service as a live stream, through Westerleigh Group’s multimedia partner Obitus.
“Just visit https://christmas.obitus.com/, enter the username ‘westerleigh’ and the password ‘sleigh'.
“For those not able to watch it live, or those who attend but who would like to see it again, the service will be available to view online as a ‘watch again’ option, using the same details above, from Friday 6 December, for 28 days, so nobody has to miss out.”
